WHAT IT FIXES

Lens and Selfie Distortion, Fixed on Real Photos

Most distortion comes from where the camera stood, not from your face. Here are four common cases and what the fix changes in each.

Fix Selfie Distortion From Shooting Too Close

A selfie taken about 12 inches away makes the base of the nose look roughly 30% wider than a photo from 5 feet. The fix redraws the face as if the phone had stepped back, and keeps the same expression.

Straighten a Bowed Room in a Wide Interior Shot

Ultra-wide phone lenses bow walls, ceilings and window frames outward, because barrel distortion is worst at the wide end. Ask for straight walls and a level floor and the room comes back square, with the furniture where it was.

Flatten a Fisheye or Action-Cam Curve

Fisheye and action-cam lenses bend straight lines on purpose, so kerbs, poles and horizons curve around whatever sits in the middle. Name the lines that should be straight and the frame is redrawn rectilinear with the subject in place.

Straighten Barrel Curves and Leaning Buildings

Barrel distortion bows straight lines outward at wide focal lengths, and tilting up at a building makes it lean in. Describe the line that should be straight, like a horizon, a door frame or a wall.

Two years ago we spent thousands on branded images and professional headshots. Then I found GoStudio.ai — it helps you look like yourself, just on your best, most confident day.

Sometimes, you don't need a photo shoot to look like your future self. You just need a visual story that says, 'I made it.' That's where GoStudio.ai can help.

The founder personally fixed all of my photos. Her commitment to giving everyone an excellent experience makes her a cut above many others. I have to give the experience 5 stars.

The images look so close to my original that if I didn't tell you they were AI-generated, you'd probably never notice. AI is your assistant — not your identity.

Kanika personally hopped on a call to help. That level of professionalism and kindness really impressed me. The AI photo is beautiful — GoStudio.ai makes professional identity accessible.

GoStudio.ai helped me show up as who I'm actually becoming — not who I thought I was supposed to be. It replaced two photographers and a retoucher for our catalog.

Kanika built GoStudio.ai — an app that turns your daily selfies into professional photos. She built it solo, and it's jaw-droppingly good.

I've seen other companies do AI headshots, but I've found her images to be the best. Dozens of images in 30 minutes — why do this yourself?

What Is a Distortion Remover?

A distortion remover is a photo tool that restores natural proportions where the camera bent them — a nose enlarged by a close selfie, faces stretched at the edge of a wide-angle shot, or straight lines bowed by barrel distortion. GoStudio.ai does it with a prompt-guided AI edit, not a lens profile.

What is the difference between lens distortion and perspective distortion?

Lens distortion is a flaw of the optics: barrel distortion bows straight lines outward and pincushion bows them inward. Perspective distortion comes from where the camera stood — a phone held close enough makes the nearest feature, usually the nose, look far bigger than it is.

Why does lens correction in Lightroom not fix a stretched face?

A lens profile undoes the known barrel or pincushion curve of one lens. Faces and bodies stretched at the edge of a wide frame are a separate volume distortion, so they stay stretched after the profile is applied. That is the case a distortion remover is for.

When is it worth removing distortion instead of re-shooting?

When the moment is gone: a group photo from a trip, a selfie from an event, an AI edit you otherwise like. If you can re-shoot, stepping back and zooming in avoids most close-range distortion in the first place.

GoStudio Distortion Remover vs other options

  • ■vs a lens-profile correction: A lens profile fixes the curve of a known lens and nothing else. GoStudio works from a description, so it also takes on the close-selfie and edge-stretch cases a profile leaves alone.
  • ■vs manual liquify: Pushing a face back into shape by hand takes practice, and small mistakes add new distortion. Here you describe what looks wrong and compare the result before you keep it.
  • ■vs re-taking the photo: Stepping back to portrait distance is the real fix when you can. When you cannot, this is the next best thing, and it starts free with 10 credits.
